During the pandemic, the City Library in Łódz launched Szuflandia - a self-service library for its readers. It is the first device of this type in this part of Europe. The innovative solution allows you to borrow books 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Readers can borrow books without prior reservation. The contents of the shelves are visible through a glazed drawer. The drawer proved to be great at the time of the lock, making lending books in a pandemic safe and always available, regardless of restrictions, and did not require direct contact between the librarian and readers.
